Jaw Surgery  Scottsdale, AZ

Jaw surgery or orthognathic surgery is a procedure used to correct misaligned jaw bones.  Occasionally, an individual may suffer from inadequate jaw growth (the jaws haven’t grown enough) or excessive jaw growth (the jaws have grown too much). This causes poor alignment of the teeth and can result in an open bite or crossbite (known as a malocclusion).

Are you a good candidate for jaw surgery?

While some malocclusions can be corrected by orthodontics alone, if you suffer from true jaw growth disturbance, the only proper correction will be with a combination of orthodontics and jaw surgery.

Those suffering from jaw misalignment often complain of symptoms including difficulty chewing or swallowing foods, speech problems, TMJ pain, snoring and sleep apnea.
